Hi!

I need to implement a sensorless Field Oriented Control (FOC) dirver for a three phase Permanent Magnet Sinchronous Motor (PMSM). I'm looking for use the DRV8402 as driver, but my application has to be as much integrated as possible and I would like to find a 'Sensing+controlling' IC compatible with the 8402 or other IC that could implemet all the functions possible to reduce the circuit as much as possible. Could you show me witch are the most suitable component series available for this kind of application?

This is good timing since we just released a motor kit today for driving 3-phase PMSM motors. The kit comes complete with C2000 MCU, DRV8312 driver, and quick start GUI. Example code is available on ControlSUITE as well as articles describing the theory of operation.

If you need more power (like the DRV8402 provides with an external heatsink), I would suggest the DRV8332. It is feature compatible with the DRV8312, so all of the above documentation and code examples will apply.
