DRV8434: DRV8434

Part Number: DRV8434
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8825,

Hi team,

The customer would like to know if it's possible to provide the table 7.3 inside the datasheet like the DRV8434P which can help clarify to control the direction and speed of rotation of the bipolar stepper motor of AIN1/AIN2+ BIN1/BIN2.

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry

  • Cherry,

Are you asking DRV8434P's AINx and BINx signal to drive a bipolar stepper motor?

Or are you asking DRV8434 to provide the following table? BTW, DRV8434 doesn't have AINx and BINx pin. The speed is controlled by the STEP pin pulse frequency which decides the output current changing rate.

    Wang

  • Hi,

Sorry for the unclear description.  And please check if the following updates can help to understand the issue:

Question: How to control a bipolar stepper motor’s rotating direction and speed with DRV8434PPWPR’s AIN1/AIN2+ BIN1/BIN2 control pins?

The customer intends to use DRV8434PPWPR to drive a bipolar stepper motor.

When use drivers that have STEP/DIR Control mode, like well know and popular used DRV8825,it’s very clearly how to control the stepper motor’s rotating direction and speed with the IC’s STEP&DIR pins.

When it comes with Control mode of PH/EN-PWM, the means to control the rotating direction and speed(DRV8434PPWPR DATASHEET’s Table 7.3 shows the way to change the rotating direction, though), especially the speed may not be apparently illustrated.

Could you please kindly give me a table like Table 7.3【
DRV8434E/P Dual H-Bridge Motor Driver With Integrated Current Sense and Smart Tune Technology datasheet
】, clearly stating how to control the direction and speed with DRV8434PPWPR’s AIN1/AIN2+ BIN1/ BIN2 control pins?

    Image 1

    Image 2

The image 2 is the pin of DRV8825.

So the point is DRV8434PPWPR, the customer is asking for the table of this device. The DRV8825 is also posted for comparison.

    Thanks and Best Regards,

    Cherry

  • Cherry,

It is thanksgiving holiday in US, so please allow Wang until Monday to reply.

  • Cherry,

Please check this training material to understand how to use the PWM interface device to drive a stepper motor.
