Earlier We participated in "TI-BLDC-48V Solutions Webinar, Part 1 and Part 2".

In the webinar it was mentioned that 5KW Motor Control Reference Design will be ready by December 2021.

We would like to be part of design evaluation. Kindly let us know how to participate or get the reference design.

Thanks for posting on the MD forum!

Another part of our team is working on this design, let me check with them and get back to you this week.

What I can tell you is that we do not send out or sell our reference designs, the full design files and test results will be available on TI.com once the project is complete.

If you have any update please let us know.

We have a 2KW invertor, based on DRV8301 chip, and C2000 MCU (F28069). We are currently testing our proto model.

I am fully aware that TI don't sell reference design. Looks like the 5KW design uses different DRV and 4 MOSFETs are in parallel for each phase. So wanted to study and make improvements in our design.

Hi Raghu,

Adam is out of office until 1/3. When he returns, he will follow up with the reference design team working on the 5KW Motor Control Reference Design.

In regards to the proto model, the design is used to support up to 5kW, which requires large motor current and voltage that is supported by the DRV325x-Q1. The reason this driver is used is for the large gate drive currents to switch the four parallel high input capacitance power MOSFETs for switching large currents into the motor.

For your design, if you are to use the DRV8301, ensure you choose MOSFETs that support the current needed and the gate drive current selected is enough to switch the FETs robustly.
