Hi team,
Just for confirm ,If 3 PWM Mode can no use BLDC trip control, because trip control need the Hi-Z statue, right?
Thanks

Hi Jenson,
3x PWM mode is valid for trapezoidal control and Field-oriented control. In using 3x PWM control, you are essentially applying "synchronous modulation", in other words, applying inverse PWM waveforms at the driving source phase(s). In trap control, synchronous modulation allows for saving body diode switching losses by turning on the LS FET rather than current circulating through the LS FET's body diode; this saves thermal dissipation in DRV8316.
If Hi-Z phases are needed, you have multiple options:
- Set all INHx/INLx waveforms = LOW
- Set DRVOFF = high
- Set nSLEEP = low
Hope this helps,
Aaron
