MCF8316AEVM: Connectivity Issue when read and write EEPROM and registers

Hi Team

I have a connectivity issue like other people, when read and write EEPROM and registers.

Analysing the I2C bus, I found out that MCF831A device was not found by msp430 MCU.
Therefore, a communication error is occurring.

(Tested with MCF8316A_GUI tool local and online version)

Questins:

How to solve it? By update the msp430 firmware or ....
In the first place, does the MCF8316A IC on the evaluation board work normally?
Is it possible to replace the evaluation board if it is defective with new one?

Hi Kenji-san,

PMCF8316A is pre-production device and MCF8316A is production device. The GUI that is published on ti.com is for the pre production device (PMCF8316A). You are seeing this error because you are using pre production GUI on the production device. We are targeting to release the Production (MCF8316A) GUI on ti.com by this week.

We released the GUI last Friday but we found few bugs. We are working on those bugs.

MCF8316A_GUI ver1.1.2 didn't work as I expected.

First, I2C communication is not done, like above picture.
There is a hardware issue and not a MCF8316A_GUI bug, I think.
How TI team think about I2C error？

By the way, MCF8316A_GUI ver1.1.2 updates the MSP430 firmware?
I want to see the MSP430 firmware. Please send it to me by e-mail, if possible.

Also I want to know if my board is normal. Is there a way to know?
If it is defective, I would like to have it replaced.
