DRV8718S-Q1EVM: Current sense not accurate

Hello,

We have the DRV8718S-Q1EVM up and running a brushed DC motor and are able to drive it in both directions, and change speed via pwm. However, the S0Sense current reading is far off from what we are measuring with inline fluke meter. Any ideas?

Also, is there a way to access gpio pins to the msp430 as to add input buttons for driving the motors? I only see a few signals pulled out to J6 which are specifically the drv signals.

Jonathan,

Are you referring to the GUI? There is definitely a bug in the GUI readout. We are working to fix it, but would require a firmware change.

Jonathan,

The current firmware and GUI are available in the tool folder online that addresses this issue. You will need the following tool to update the firmware:

The GUI will guide you thru the update.
