DRV10983: Explanation of Mechanical AVS

Hi,

I wanted to understand the mechanical avs functioning in DRV10983 and Drv10983q on a MOSFET level.

It was observed in our case that the Mechanical AVS allowed the voltage surge to reflect on 24V at low RPM thus failing the very purpose of AVS.

Note: BEMF entered was less than the BEMF being shown in tuning GUI.

Hence, wanted to understand the functioning at a deeper level , if possible mathematically.

Thanks for posting your question in MD forum. I think the Mechanical AVS section in the datasheet provides a pretty good explanation. Can you share the device settings and the Supply voltage plot?
