DRV8701: MOS tube cannot turn on

Part Number: DRV8701

Hi team,

Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

The nssleep of the DRV8701E has been set to 1 and the can output AVDD, DVDD, EN, PH is set to 1. While MOS tubes connected to the chip cannot turn on. The Mos tubes used are newest. The MOS tube G-pole voltage is all 0.

Could you help heck this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry

  • Cherry,

    Schematic looks OK.  Few questions:

    1)  Have they tried more than one IC?

    2)  Can they measure voltage on VCP pin?

    3)  Can they add a 10k pullup resistor from nFAULT to DVDD?  Once they add this resistor, measure voltage on nFAULT?  I want to check for a fault condition reported by driver.

    Regards,

    Ryan

  • hello, Sir

I have the same question as Cherry , I have  changed  many ICs but they doesn`t  work and I add a 10K resistor form  nFault  to DVDD as you said and after that I measure the voltage on the nFault  it is still  low , but one thing wrong is that the voltage of  VCP is wrong my VBAt and VM are 7.4V but the VCP pin is 8.6V and another IC is 6.2V ,and the Gate pin of the N-mosfet is low so my motor can`t move.

    This is my Schematic

    could you help me?

    best regard, thank you.

  • Hello,

I deleted your other post as it was a multiple.  We can keep conversation going here.

What is the voltage on nSLEEP pin?  Can you also try to measure AVDD and DVDD to see if they match the expected voltages as outlined in the datasheet?

    Regards,

    Ryan
