MCT8316A: What is the difference between complementary PWM mode and single ended PWM mode in speed control?

Hi Team!

I have a question about the the difference between complementary PWM mode and single ended PWM mode in speed control?

Response during deceleration is different between the two modes.
Below result, was measure with same PID parameter conditions.

Single ended mode:

Hi Kenji,

In single ended mode, during recirculation, we let the current recirculate through the diode.

In Complimentary mode, we let the current recirculate through switches. In single ended mode conduction losses are higher as the recirculation current passes through the diode.

How does it affect the deceleration speed?
Is it the difference in the effect of BEMF?

In Complimentary mode, the recirculation current can go -ve which can induce braking effect. If AVS is disabled, this -ve current can be uncontrolled and can spike up the DC bus voltage.
