MCF8316AEVM: GUI - Register Name Mismatch Error

Are you working on pre-production (PMCF8316A) or production device (MCF8316A)?.

GUI version 1.1.5 works only on production devices (MCF8316A) and version 1.0.1 works only on pre-production devices. The config file "mcf8316A_regs_xxxxx.JSON" that was shared to you earlier was generated from v1.1.5 so you should be using GUI v1.1.5 to program the production device. 

If you still see an error message, then the issue might be on the hardware. Go to "Guided tuning section" and refer to the Hardware setup section in the GUI.

Below is an attached image from the team. Based on what they can see, they believe it to be the production MCF8316A.

The team have since completely uninstalled/reinstalled V1.1.5. Then they followed the hardware setup. The board initially connects but when they try to read/write to the registers it disconnects every time.

How did they confirm that this is production device? I cannot clearly read the top symbol on the IC. Top symbol is printed "MCF8316A" if it is a production device and "PMCF8316A" if it is a pre-production device. Let us confirm this first before moving to the next steps.

Update. They were able to get a more clear picture and it does appear to be the pre-production silicon (PMCF). See below.

Since this appears to be using the preproduction silicon, but the mcf8316A_regs_xxxxx.JSON" that was shared was generated from v1.1.5 for production silicon, do we need to generate a new JSON file to work with the preproduction silicon and v1.0.1 GUI?
