MCT8316ZTEVM: Cycle by Cycle Current Limit Confirmation

Part Number: MCT8316ZTEVM

Hello,

I just wanted to confirm that when Vmeas (Equation 4 on page 46 of datasheet) is equal to or less than the voltage on ILIM pin, the current limiting activates. Therefore if the Voltage on the ILIM pin is 1.25V, AVDD is 3.3V, and the GAIN is set to 1.2V/A, then current limiting will activate once the average phase current going through the low side FETs is equal or greater than 333mA.

1.25 = 3.3/2 - 0.333 * 1.2

Is this correct?

I am asking because I set the Gain to 1.2V, and ILIM to 1.25V, and I am seeing average currents of 1A flowing through the phases of the motor using a current clamp for measurement.
