MCF8316A: Is it ok to do MPET with the gearbox attached?

I have a motor with dedicated 1:40 gearbox. But the motor shaft's bearing is mounted on the housing of the gearbox. So, I can't remove the gearbox. Is it ok to do the MPET while the gearbox attached?

Hi Robert,

Yes, it is okay to run MPET with gearbox. Please make sure the MPET open loop current is sufficient enough to drive the load during Ke measurement.
