DRV8426E: Regarding full scale current setting

Hi support team.

I have a question about full-scale current setting.

Are the notes in the data sheet below a condition to prevent the motor coil from being saturated by the stall current?
The right term in equation (1) is understood to be the rated current of the motor. Is this correct?

Hi Higa,

The right section of the equation is basically the maximum current that can flow through the load at a given VM supply and FET RDSon. So you can't go higher unless VM is increased. It is not to prevent motor coil from saturating.
