DRV8350:DRV8350H

Part Number: DRV8350

I am developing a product with 1X PWM mode of DRV8350H.
First of all, when I checked, "H" in the part marked in red in the table below is the part marked as "L" in the data sheet. I checked this by turning the motor by hand by connecting only the hall sensor power of the motor and the hall sensor to the board. I want to know if this is normal.

At present, the motor rotates only under PWM duty of 15%, and if the duty is higher than that, the internal protection of DRV8350H operates and the LED in nFault turns on and stops working.
Can you tell me where the problem is in the current state?

  • Hi Seunghyoek,

Regarding the table that you provided, that table is incorrect as you pointed out. The datasheet shows the correct state table, which is shown below:

Trapezoidal control has 1 phase with the low side MOSFET on, 1 phase with the high side PWMming, and 1 phase that is in Hi-Z mode (both MOSFETs off).

You mention that at duty cycles above 15% the nFAULT turns on. What do you have to do to get the motor operating again after a fault? Do you have to power cycle the device? Or pulse the ENABLE pin to clear the fault? Or does the motor begin operating again after a period of time?

  • Hi Seunghyoek,

Do you need assistance on this still? If not, please mark as "Resolved".
