DRV8873: DRV8873HPWP* 300mA current limit when hardware enabled & PH/EN.

Part Number: DRV8873
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8876, DRV8243-Q1

Dear All,

I would like to use the DRV8873 in hardware selection & with slow slewrate.
MODE = PH/EN (§7.3.1 Bridge Control)
SR = GND = 53.2 V/μs (§7.3.1.4 Slew-Rate Control)
nOL= DVDD = Disabled (§7.3.2.4.1 Open-Load Detection in Passive Mode (OLP) & §7.3.2.4.2 Open-Load Detection in Active Mode (OLA))
nITRIP = GND (§5, Pin Functions)

This so we can control a motor left & right with only 1 IO for PH-input. (Table 4. PH/EN Mode Truth Table)
But I also would like to set a trip current to stop the motor from stalling when blocked.

About §7.3.1.3 Internal Current Sense and Current Regulation
I would like to set an current limit of around 300mA. so EQ1: R(SENSE) = k × 5 V / IO --> R(SENSE) = 1100(typ) × 5 V / 300mA --> 18.3K (theoretical).
But is this now a limiting current or a trip current with hardware enabled control?

And for the §7.3.2.3 Overcurrent Protection (OCP)
"The overcurrent protection can operate in four different modes: latched shutdown, automatic retry, report only, and disabled."
I would like to use it in automatic retry, but how do I choose that with hardware control & MODE = PH/EN

Thanks for your assistance.
