DRV8714-Q1: power off braking function

Part Number: DRV8714-Q1

Dear team,

For the option 1,  when our device monitors PVDD overvoltage by itself, low side mosfet will be on, right? So this option works in active mode. It will be disabled in sleep mode because our chip can't achieve OV monitor under sleep mode, right?

Is there any application of DRV8714 in the tailgate strut? If yes, can you provide relevant application experience and email to me? thanks!

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • Hi Sherry,

    Thank you for your questions.

First of all, power off braking function is valid when nSLEEP=Low (Sleep mode). Not valid when nSLEEP=High.

In option 1, when DRV detects PVDD overvoltage by itself, low side mosfet will be on.

In active mode(nSLEEP=High), DRV has PVDD Overvoltage function. Here is fault detection table. FYI.

DRV8714 can be used back door, slide door etc. So tailgate should be good one. We cannot disclose other customer's information. Please contact to marketing team.

  • Hi Shinya,

    Thanks for your help!

    1. Sorry, I still don't understand your clarification as below. The option 1 only works under active mode, which is conflict with your statement that Not valid when nSLEEP=High.

First of all, power off braking function is valid when nSLEEP=Low (Sleep mode). Not valid when nSLEEP=High.

    2. how about the option 2 and option 3? They both works in active mode?

    Thanks & Best Regards,

    Sherry

  • Hi Sherry,

    >>In active mode(nSLEEP=High), DRV has PVDD Overvoltage function. Here is fault detection table. FYI.

This is not comment for power off braking. I explained DRV's  PVDD overvoltage function.

Powered off braking function is available when nSLEEP=low. All options(1-4) are for power off braking so available when nSLEEP=Low.

    Thanks
