Hello team,

My customer is facing an issue during ESSENTIAL CONTROLS on GUIDED TUNING SETTINGS.

<Issue>

Motor does not spin through I2C control.

Motor spin a few seconds through the potentiometer. Then motor stops and nFault LED turns on.

- GUI can perform "Read All Resisters". So the connection between GUI and EVM should be OK.

- When nFault LED turns on, GUI does not display the result on "FAULT STATUS".

- Even if "Auto read motor status" and "Auto read fault status" are disable, the situation is not changed.

- The customer is using the latest GUI on TI.com. And I placed order of the EVM on 05/09/2022 by TI.com. The customer is using the EVM board.

Shotaro-san,

Do you see this issue when "Auto read" is enabled? If auto-read is enabled, please disable it and check if you still see this issue.

In both cases (=auto-read is enable or disable), we see the issue.

Sakai-san,

Is the GUI not reporting any fault even after reading all registers? Can you share the phase current waveform when this issue occurs? Can you share the motor parameters.? What is the voltage applied to VM ?

I was just wondering, can power supply be an issue? I have not used the mentioned motor drive. But while solving others problems with the simple L293D ( https://www.theengineeringprojects.com/2017/07/introduction-to-l293d.html ) or other similar ones, I often noticed that people complained about the driver, but the culprit was actually their insufficient power supplies.

We haven't seen any issues with this part related to power supplies.

When another EVM board is used, there is no issue at my customer side. So I will check the board which has the issue with my lab environment and update the result.
