DRV8910-Q1: Inrush current

Genius 15960 points
Part Number: DRV8910-Q1

Hello,

My customer is evaluating DRV8910-Q1 which is used as a power switch to an external sensor unit.

The normal maximum current is 500mA.

But due the input capacitor of the sensor unit, a large inrush current flows and OCP occurs many times before the input capacitor is enough charged.

When OCP occurs, the host MCU have to set CLR_FLT to recover the condition.

Then MCU become very busy to recover this condition until the input capacitor is enough charged and the MCU can’t execute other tasks.

Is there any way to solve this problem?

Regards,

Oba
