MCT8316A: debug issue

Part Number: MCT8316A

Hi team,

Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

GUI and MSP430F2355LaunchPad are used to debug and please see the figure below:

Basically, the motor is stable for a period of time based on the default parameters (with minor modifications) in the sllu336a_MCT8316A Tuning Guide document. After connecting the GUI to the 2355, the receive and transmit lights on the 422 line of the serial port are always blinking, and it should be that there is always interaction between the GUI and the 2355.

The EEPROM has been previously flashed with the 2355 code from the official modified flash parameter routine, but too many registers and parameters making debugging difficult. So the customer uses the s/w of upper computer to debug and it can easily read back and burn the 8316A EEPEOM.

While here comes a new condition: the Fault pin generates a fault signal for an unfixed period of time when the motor is running. After a few moments the fault light goes out and the motor will run again and repeat that process all the time.

However, when the Fault pin gives a fault signal, no fault condition is observed by the upper s/w and the GUI has turned on the switch to automatically read back the Fault status.

Could you help check what's the case here? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry
