DRV10987: DRV10987 - Speed pin issue

Hi Vishnu,

After some days of running and kept in shelf, we are getting the same issue like it is not working (I2C communication itself failed), but while touching multimeter pin at the speed pin the motor driver starts spinning the blower.

Can you check if the VREG, V3P3 and V1P8 rails are good?

Yes , while the driver is not working the 1.8V and 3.3V out from internal LDO is not coming but after touching the pin (during spinning motor) the 1.8V and 3.3V is good

If you don't see the 1.8V and 3.3V come up after powering up the device, then the device is mostly damaged. Do you see any voltage on the SPEED pin after touching the multimeter to the speed pin? Is the speed input mode configured to analog, PWM or I2C ?

After pulling up the speed pin, the motor driver is working good. It implies the pull up resistor is required for speed pin for proper operation.

Yes, a pull up is required on SPEED pin to control the motor speed in analog mode.

Thanks, we are using the PWM speed control option and it also needs required pull up resistor for proper operation.
