DRV8308EVM: DRV8308EVM 430 program file

Does the GUI cloud also support the function?

The DRV8308 is an old part so the support is limited, would you be able to tell us what features made you select this product for evaluation? We might be able to offer some newer devices that can better suit your needs.

Hi Akshay,

We now evaluate DRV8308 for brushless motor. As 8308 both support PWM mode and frequency mode via SPI configuration, we do not need implement the motor control algorithm in the STM32 MCU.

Would you recommend another device which could replace 8308?

Another way, now the 430chip on my DRV8308 EVM is broken. Could you instruct me how to flash the new one?

Is the DRV8308_EVM.out file that be flashed into 430?

The .out file should be the file. May I know what voltage and current levels you are planning to target? Are you planning on trapezoidal or sinusoidal control?

The total motor power is about 12V/1A, max 6000rpm. We would like to use the internal integrated algorithm on 8308.

What is the advantage or disadvantage on trapezoidal or sinusoidal control?

I think it would be beneficial to look  into our integrated control drivers such as the MCT8316A (sensorless trap), MCT8316Z (sensored trap) or MCF8316A (sensorless FOC). These work in your intended voltage/current range.

We now have driven the motor using another DRV8308 successfully. But the 430 MCU on one evaluation board is broken.

I want to repair it. Could you tell me how to transform the .out file to .txt file that could be flashed via Spy-Bi-Wire interface?
