DRV8243-Q1: Questions of DRV8243-Q1

Part Number: DRV8243-Q1

Dear Team,

we have some questions as below,

1. Can the FAULT# pin of the Motor driver be shared by four?
2. FAULT# Viewing pictures can be locked, how can I unlock it?
3. If my FAULT# signal needs to be isolated by an optocoupler for digital signals, which side should the pull high be on?

Many Thanks,

Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy,

    Thank you for your questions.

    1. I am not sure what "shared by four" means. nFAULT pin is open drain configuration. Without fault condition, nFAULT pin pull up by external resister and "High level". Internal FET turns on and pull down nFAULT pin level to "Low Level" during fault condition.

    2. Please refer datasheet 8.3.4 Protection and Diagnostics. In SPI variant, it is cleared by CLR_FLT command or SLEEP command through the nSLEEP pin. for HW variant, nSLEEP pin or power cycle.

    3. Please refer 1). nFAULT pin is OPEN drain configuration. Detailed optocoupler circuit should be designed by customer.

    regards
