about: DRV8412 overcurrent protection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8412

Hi,

i have some question regarding DRV8412 overcurrent protection feature. it is mentioned in the datasheet DRV8412 page 12 that overcurretn detector assumes that presence of a proper inductor or power ferrite bead at the power-stage output. can you please explain why ferrite bead would help? An inductor or ferrite bead is a must for overcurrent feature to work? what kind of risk i am facing if i chose not to use them? can you please share more information or validation results with me? do you have some recommended inductor and ferrite bead parts? thanks.

best regards

Gordon
