DRV8718-Q1: DRV8718-Q1 VCP supply

Part Number: DRV8718-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2903-Q1,

Hi team!

The customer wanted to use DRV8718 VCP to supply for comparator LM2903-Q1. The VCP is about 22V and the comparator LM2903-Q1 electrical characteristics is as below. Is this acceptable?

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your questions. This question was posted at DRV8718-Q1. DRV8718-Q1 VCP output will be PVDD + up to 11V.  So as long as PVDD is lower than 11V, VCP will stay lower than 22V.

    If you have more questions related to LM2903-Q1, please post questions for LM2903-Q1.

    It depends on the voltage on PVDD. What is the voltage on PVDD?

    If you say VCP is 22v, does this mean the PVDD is 11v?

    VCP = PVDD + 11V.

    VCP will have ripple every time the gate signals switching, so it is not a clean source for using as power supply to other components.
