DRV8244S-Q1LEVM: GUI Software Installation

Part Number: DRV8244S-Q1LEVM

Hi,

Good Day.

My customer is trying to download the GUI software (https://www.ti.com/tool/DRV8244S-Q1LEVM#design-files).

He does not believe he is installing it properly because he only get a 1-time use out of it before he had to uninstall it and reinstall it.

He was wondering if you can walk him through the process of installing the software properly.

Please advise. Thank you very much.

    There is user guide TI.com. 

    www.ti.com/.../DRV8244S-Q1LEVM

    Starting from page12, it shows GUI set up procedure. Could you refer it?

    And it shows option for Cloud-based GUI on section 4.2. Please try it if install does not work.

    Hey Ray,

    Make sure he is opening the GUI from the installed launcher, probably at the location "C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\DRV824x_DRV814x-Q1EVM-GUI/".  It sounds like he might be running the installer each time resulting in bouncing between installing (and opening the GUI) and uninstalling.

    Good Day. Please see below the response of our customer to your replies. Thank you very much.

    So it stated that there is a shortcut that has been deleted. All that is left in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\DRV824x_DRV814x-Q1EVM-GUI/". The location is “uninstall DRV824x_Drb814x-Q1EVM-GUI”

    Is this correct? If so where can I open the GUI file then?

    Hey Ray, 

    Maybe my last response was confusing.  These steps are what I followed that work: 

    1. Install the GUI by running "..\slvc821b\DRV824x_DRV814x-Q1EVM-GUI-0.5.0.setup-win_10.0.0.exe"

    2. Run the GUI by opening the shortcut "C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\DRV824x_DRV814x-Q1EVM-GUI\DRV824x_DRV814x-Q1EVM-GUI.lnk"

    - Note, this shortcut should be opening "C:\Users\yourUserNameHere\guicomposer\runtime\gcruntime.v10\DRV824x_DRV814x-Q1EVM-GUI\launcher.exe"

    - You should also be able to run the shortcut on your Desktop "DRV824x_DRV814x-Q1EVM-GUI 0.5.0"

    Let me know if those two steps work for you!
