MCT8316Z: MCT8316Z

Part Number: MCT8316Z

with the SPI version there is a possibility to use the buck output as the source for the linear regulator AVDD, (when its voltage is set to 5V or 5.7V).

how is it for the Hardware version? does AVDD always connected to Vm or it is connected  to the buck output for  Vbk >= 5V.

thanks,

Uri Maimon

  • Hi Uri,

Thanks for your question on the Motor Drives E2E Forum.

I will aim to provide an answer on this by the end of the week!

  • Hi Uri,

For the Hardware version of MCT8316Z AVDD is always connected to the buck output to minimize system power losses. In the datasheet it is referred to this as Power Sequencing in section 8.3.4.4 AVDD Power Sequencing on Buck Regulator.

In the table in the datasheet featured below, it shows that for the hardware version of this device, power sequencing is enabled:

I hope this answers your question and if it does, please help my marking this thread as resolved!
