RESET_X signals timeline in DRV8312

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Hi all,

I'm trying to implement a BLDC motor driver with one DVR8312, but I don't understand the RESET_X signals timeline specified in the datasheet. Which function do they perform?

Thank you before hand,

Jaime

  • Jaime,

The RESET_X signals simply HIZ the corresponding outputs.  This allows for BEMF measurements on that particular channel when using algorithms like 6-step trapezoidal control.  If you are interested in experimenting with the device, please note that we have a development platform with sample code:

  • Ryan,

First of all, thank you very much for your fast answer. I'm not only interested in experimenting with this device, actually I'm developing a sensorless BLDC control for a pump, and I was wondering if you could guide me to find in the controlSUITE an example of code to run the algorithm that is explained in the Application Report SPRA498 or other you consider better or easier.

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum (motor dirvers), and if you would like that I write this question in the microcontrolers forum.

    Thank you again. Regards,

    Jaime
