Hi Im having issues with loading this application. It never opens and seems to just crash immediately. Using Windows 10. Has anyone else experienced this? Im not sure how to debug this, have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and restarted my computer several times.

Hi Randall,

Do you have the USB2ANY and DRV2605EVM-CT connected to the PC?

I have seen this issue before. It is likely related to the USB2ANY firmware. typically you can just update the firmware inside the Haptic control console, however since you cannot open the GUI this isnt possible.

the EVM firmware updater can be used separately from haptic control console.

Can you please go to the directory where HCC is installed and find the firmware updater tool?

something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\HapticControlConsole 1.6.0.2\EVMFirmwareUpdater\EVMFirmwareUpdater.exe

run the firmware updater executable and follow the instructions on screen. the firmware for USB2ANY should be "DRV-USBCOM-EVM_v1p4.txt"

Hi Arthur, thanks for the reply, I can update the firmware of the USB2ANY with the EVMFirmwareUpdater, though still cannot open the application, I click on it and it start to load but closes suddenly. Weird issue.

this same issue happens even when no EVM is connected to the PC?

Yeah I have tried with any without and EVM connected. My coworker tried and the software works just fine on his machine. Same OS, he may have slightly more RAM on his.

Hi Randall,

I think that we wont be able to fix this on your machine, HCC was developed a while before windows 10. Let me do a little more research and get back to you. I will be traveling Monday/Tuesday. I can get back to you Wednesday,

Hi Randall,.

I was incorrect in my earlier statement. Haptic Control Console 1.6.0.2 does support windows 10. please make sure that this is the version you are using.

Have you tried running the HCC in administrator mode?

When reinstalling have you deleted everything from the installed directory?

you might also try this one version older HCC (1.6.0.1) the changes where not related to DRV2605EVM-CT
