DRV8908-Q1: why the drv8908 evm can work until the supply increase to about 5.5V

Part Number: DRV8908-Q1

Hi team,

I see that the DRV8908 VM is 4.5V~32V in datasheet. But when we use EVM to test and give 5V to supply. The load(LED) didn't work, while it can work until the supply increase to about 5.5V. Why the output is disabled when the input voltage is 5V?

  • Hale,

Is the customer measuring the voltage directly at the VM pin of our device?  Or the input at the EVM.  I suspect there is some drop across the reverse polarity protection circuitry on the EVM.

    Regards,

    Ryan
