DRV8251A: The OCP test

Hi team,

My customer wants to have a test on OCP performance and they add a sliding resistor to change the load to enter OCP status,

But actually they are not sure the protection they catched is OCP or OTP. Do u have any advice on distinguishing OCP or OTP? 

And do u have any advice on the OCP test?

    Zoey,

    They can check the RETRY time by monitoring the outputs.  If outputs disable and re-enable every 3ms in a very consistent manner, then it is OCP.  OTP will also disable the outputs, but recovery will be more variable as it depends on the hysteresis of the temperature sensor.
