For evaluating the DRV8711 i use a TIC board of Pololu.
The customer has high precision scenarios, sometimes in a vacuum surrounding, where its vital to
have as low heat as possible. Turning down the holding current as low as 100-150 mA works with
other drivers without loosing steps (of course with nearly no load)
When i try to turn down the 8711s current significant below 0.5A when stopped, the motor doesnt maintain its position,
it jumps a little.
Is this by design or do i miss something ?
