DRV8718-Q1: No VCP output

Hi team,

My customer BYD met VCP no output issue in the application of DRV8718, what is the possible reason of the issue? Thanks!

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question. Couple of possibilities for VCP no output.

    1.Please refer this chart and check if this fault scenario exist on customer system

    2. PVDD (~12V), DVDD (3.3V or 5V) should be supplied. nSLEEP should be High. 

    3.Make sure external caps for charge pump on VCP, CPH, CPL are mounted.

    3. If above is confirmed but still VCP does not work, I recommend to disconnect external circuit on VCP/PVDD here. Then VBAT connect to PVDD directly. I guess VCP should output.

    Additional comment. I recommend not to connect DRVOFF/nFLT pin to GND directly. For debug purpose, sometimes we want to use nFLT pin to pull up to logic(3.3V) through the pull up resister. 

    At least, better to have 0ohm resister and test point for debug capabilities.
