MCF8315A: I2C doesn't work on my own board with MCF8315A

Part Number: MCF8315A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430FR2355, MCF8315EVM

Hello,

I designed my own board with MCF8315A. I measured All values AVDD, DVDD,VCP, FB_BK and  SW_BK frequency -> 461 KHZ

But I2C doesn't work. Can you help me ? All signals have the same values than eval board except FB_BK = 5Volts.

Best regards

Franck

  • Hi Franck,

Thanks for posting to the Motor Drive forum.

May I ask what MCU are you using to send I2C communication?

    • If you have the MCF8315EVM, could you please try jumper wiring the I2C pins and GND from the on-board MSP430FR2355 over to your board and see if you can use the MCF8315A GUI to communicate with your MCF8315A?
    • Could you please capture the I2C CLK and SDA activities with a logic analyzer or oscilloscope to see where the communication error occurs?

    Regards,
    Eric C.

  • Hello Eric, I find my problem in this forum for MCF8316. I add a resistor on FG and everything work well.
