DRV8323: Is deadtime insertion available in 1xPWM mode ?

Part Number: DRV8323

Hi,

I am using the SPI variant and want to try 1XPWM mode but confused if it supports deadtime insetion in this mode or not?

Should we use 3xPWM to enable this feature?

Thank you,

Amrith

  • Hi Amrith,

Thank you for your question! 1xPWM mode does support automatic deadtime insertion. 1xPWM mode uses the internal trapezoidal algorithm to commutate the motor based on the hall inputs. Automatic deadtime insertion is used when switching off one MOSFET and turning on the other MOSFET of the same phase. The only mode that does not support automatic deadtime insertion is independent PWM mode.
