BOOSTXL-DRV8323RH: BOOSTXL-DRV8323RH in 1x PWM mode HW config with Launchpad

Part Number: BOOSTXL-DRV8323RH

Hi, I'm trying to spin a BLDC motor with the BOOSTXL-DRV8323RH with the MSP430 Launchpad in 1xPWM Mode. What are all the hardware changes that need to be addressed to get this working. I have already populated R36,R37, and R38 according to the EVM User Guide. The GUI says for 1xPWM mode to also connect the Mode pin to 2.06V. This isn't in the guide, should this be done and is there anything else that needs to be configured to get this to work in this mode?

Looking forward to hearing a response, thanks.

  • Hi Michael,

Thank you for posting to the Motor Driver's forum!

The hardware variant has 4 register-configurable inputs  (GAIN, IDRIVE, MODE, and VDS), for more information see section 8.3.1.2.2 Hardware Interface of the datasheet.

Shown below from section 8.3.3 Pin Diagrams are the various configurations that can be set with an external resistor:

    Best,
