MCF8316A: How to reset when parameter estimation fails

Hi,

MPET motor parameter estimation sometimes succeeds, but why is it overwhelmingly unsuccessful?

Is there a way to reset when parameter estimation fails? (I want it back to MOTOR_IDLE)

After turning on the power, whenever I try to operate the motor, it always goes into parameter estimation mode. Is there a way to avoid this?

Hi Connor,

Apologies for the delay! MPET can be disabled by programming the R, L, Ke and Speed loop Kp and Ki in EEPROM. After the device boots up, it checks for these parameters and if they are non-zero, MPET will not be executed. Note: Please ensure you do NOT auto read any registers as this can cause the device to get stuck in unknown state.
