Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMC555, DRV8210
Hi team,
The customer would like to know where can they download the Spice Model to the DRV8836? They need circuit simulation at Multisim but can't find DRV8836.
Thanks.

Cherry

H Cherry,
Unfortunately we did not developed a SPice model for the DRV8836.

Hi Pablo Armet ,
Thanks for your support.
1) Could you help share the reference circuit diagram above for the system block diagram? What is the inverter specification in the middle?
2) In addition, the customer wants to set the LMC555 frequency to 100Hz with a 50% duty cycle. What should the resistance be set to?
3) And is there another way to control the MOS with the DRV8836?
Thanks and regards,
Cherry
Hi Cherry,

Which inverter are you referring to?
2) In addition, the customer wants to set the LMC555 frequency to 100Hz with a 50% duty cycle. What should the resistance be set to?
What resistance you referring to? The resistors to configure the 555 timer to generate 100kHz freq at 50% duty cycle?
3) And is there another way to control the MOS with the DRV8836?
If the customer simply wants to drive an external mosfet with a integrated BDC driver, the DRV8210 is a good option instead of the DRV8836.

Yes.

They want to use the two half bridges of the DRV8836 for independent control of charge and discharge to achieve the goal of controlling the MOS. Which device is a better choice?
Thanks and regards,
Cherry
Hi Cherry,
Regarding the inverter (NOT gate), it is okay if it only flips the logic but does not source any current to the ENBL pins
Regarding the 555 timer, I can't really comment if the resistor values are okay since I do not support this device. If this is a TI device, you can reach out to the team responsible for supporting this device.

I do not recommend this approach because there are leakage paths from the OUT pins to GND through internal path. This can cause the current through the gate of the external FET to discharge to GND and prevent the FET from turning ON. My recommendation is to only connect the FET gate to only one of the half-bridge outputs and switch between the LOW side and High side FETs.
