Hello，

For DRV8703-Q1, if the OUT2 half bridge is not used and just left THE ghx/glx Pins float, how to avoid the OCP warning? Setting the DIS_Hx_VDS and DIS_Lx_VDS bit to 0 in VDS control register and prevent the driver stopping, but the OCP bit in Fault status register will still set. This will trigger the MCU stop PWM at another half bridge. How can avoid this OCP fault warning?

Hi,

Thank you for your questions. If you plan to leave disconnected on OUT2 half bridge, do not turn on OUT2 half bridge. Not only VDS OCP, VGS fault could be detected.

Please make sure GH2 and GL2 are always "OFF" like bellow.

I tried it on EVM. With the OUT2 half bridge unused, it seems set the DIS_H2_VDS or DIS_L2_VDS will not stop the motor running, and nFAULT pin will not go low. But the Fault and VDS&GDF status registers still can report the OCP fault. I am working with customer engineer to see if we can combine the nFAULT pin and OCP bit in register to walk around the issue(Disable the H2 AND l2 VDS firstly).
