DRV8711: Maximum rated current per channel missing

Hi,

Usually the motor to be connected will have a winding rating of minimum 150 mA. so i am looking for the peak or continuous RMS current per channel driver can output.

I am only able to see recommended operating current in datasheet. Please let me know the peak value and continuous rms current.

In table 6.5 in the datasheet, it shows the possible peak current values that can be set.

Hi Vivek,

DRV8711 is designed to drive Mosfets and is not suitable to drive a stepper motor directly. Current capacity will depend on type of Mosfets and their cooling system.

With a motor driver based on DRV8711 you can get rms currents around 10A and more and peak currents 2 times higher or more. If you need to drive motors with much lower currents integrated drives like DRV8434 and other may be a better option for you.

I support Grzegorz's answer. I would also recommend the DRV8955, if you are driving brushed DC motor instead of a stepper.
