You can find the firmware from the DRV2511Q1EVM here as a resource: https://e2e.ti.com/support/motor-drivers-group/motor-drivers/f/motor-drivers-forum/688133/ccs-drv2511q1evm-drv2511q1evm-firmware-code

This EVM already uses a MSP430 to drive the DRV2511Q1. The DRV2511Q1 does not have register settings. It is a hardware controlled device.

Besides, 2 more questions would like to ask

1. How to import to Haptic Control console?

2. Does it have any guideline to apply this FW?

What do you want to import? Please clarify

The firmware can be downloaded to the EVM easily through Haptic Control Console. Editing the firmware is available for advanced and experienced users only so there is no documentation on that.

Hi Jax,

Be aware that HCC is only compatible with the EVM. If you are using the EVM, HCC has a firmware updater built in that will allow you to update the EVM to the latest firmware. You can find the updater by clicking "Help" -> "Firmware Update." The firmware update file will be available inside HCC. Be aware that HCC is not able to open and edit firmware. That can only be done in Code Composer Studio.

Goal: Develop solenoid driver with TI MCU with Code composer studio

Prepared: TI Launch Pad kit(MSP-EXP430G2ET), DRV2511-Q1 EVM kit, USB2UANY

Inquire:

1. Do we need other device or accessories

2. How to set up DRV2511-Q1 environment with Code Composer studio and above HW device?

3.. Does CCS has sample code?

Hi Jax,

You shouldn't need any other accessories or devices. To set up the environment please refer to the firmware shared earlier. That will be your example code.

I am only an expert in the DRV2511-Q1. For more detailed support on CCS and using the MSP, please make a ticket with the processors team.
