Hello Team, customer wants to use the charge pump for additional reverse polarity circuit according our app note SLVA835A.

But we need the specification how much current can be drawn from the IC?

Hi Josef,

DRV8143-Q1 and DRV8874-Q1's charge pump is designed for internal use only. It cannot be used for reverse polarity.

DRV8705/6-Q1 and DRV8714/18-Q1 charge pump is desinged to drive external circuit such as reverse polarity protection.

Customer will now change to DRV8106-Q1 or DRV8706-Q1.

- Is it possble to use these driver' charge pumps for an external reverse polarity circuit?

- Can the driver used with 50kHz PWM for the external transistors

Hi Josef,

Yes, DRV1806-Q1 also can support for an external reverse polarity circuit. By the way, TI EVM has example circuit driven by charge pump.

I believe your question 50KHz is not for reverse polarity. Just question for gate driving. Answer is yes.
