DRV2700: Please check the output specification.

Part Number: DRV2700

Dear TI experts,

My customer considers DRV2700 for their new product to operate piezo pump.

Could check the specification that DRV2700 can make the output below?

- 100V peak to peak output voltage

- 36KHz output frequency

and if you have any schematic for make the output above, please share the condition. (schematic, input source, components, etc)

If DRV2700 cannot make the output, please suggest other IC.

Best regards,

Chase

  • Hi Chase,

Unfortunately our piezo actuators are limited to the audio band. The gain bandwidth plots in the DRV2700 in general hold true for the rest of our piezo drivers

These devices were intended for audio band applications, so a 36kHz output is not feasible.

    Apologies for the inconvenience,
    Jeff McPherson

  • Dear Jeff,

    Thank you for your support.

    1. then DRV2700 can support up to 20KHz output?

    2. What should I see the specification in the datasheet? (because I cannot see similar plot in other IC's datasheet.)

    3. How about other TI piezo driver? Could you recommend which can support 36KHz output?

    Best regards,

    Chase

  • Hi Chase,

    1) Yes. As the figures above show, the gain bandwidth is supported up to 20kHz.

    2) The other ICs don't have the same plots but the gain bandwidth is very similar. Regardless they will not support 36kHz.

    3) All of our piezo drivers are limited to the audio band unfortunately.

    Best regards,
    Jeff McPherson
