DRV8718S-Q1EVM: DRV8718S-Q1 EVM firmware update issue

Hi Team,

Could you please kindly help to check if below firmware could be used to in DRV8718S-Q1 EVM(the EVM is sampled two weeks ago)? Or if customer need to do firmware update in DRV8718S-EVM? My customer download "DRV87xx_DRV8106-Q1EVM_Firmware_1.5" and find the EVM can't work again, and they also can't recovery the EVM to normal work. Attached file shows the firmware customer download and some fault picture and their set up. 

Could you please kindly help to support below questions for customer? Since customer need to send out a EVM demo to their end customer which could work normally, so it would be appreciated if your team could share some support by tomorrow morning. 

#1 Help to check if there has any way which could help customer recovery their EVM to normal work? customer also tried to reset and reconnect to GUI, but it doesn't work. 

#2 If customer need to do the firmware update, then do we have latest firmware package which could share to customer? 

#3 Help to share the latest EVM schematic and PCB layout file

    The latest firmware should be 1.5 and is available at the following link with the compatible GUI also in the zip folder.  Somehow the software link for DRV8718S-Q1 got broken, but firmware and GUI are the same between DRV8714 and DRV8718.

    Scroll down and you can find it.  

    For hardware, go to the following link and click on the "view package" button.  Hardware files are in there.

    To update firmware, a MSPFET tool is required.  A link to that tool is in the website above.  Instructions are in the software user guide.

    Sometimes connection issues are do to permission restrictions on certain PCs.

        Tthis link is the same as what I downloaded before,it is "slvc809b.zip".But  the DRV87xx_DRV8106-Q1EVM_Firmware_1.5 can not open by CCS12

    Hi Jie,

    Why do you want to open the CCS project? The firmware can be updated using the "File > Program Device" menu after connecting a MSP-FET to the EVM. This is our suggested method to update the firmware to match the GUI's firmware requirements.  

    Another option is to use the .out or .txt file from the firmware zip file and program the EVM using UniFlash, https://dev.ti.com/uniflash. As for the CCS project it was built with CCS 9.3. You may have to create a new CCS project for CCS12. But you won't have to unless you want to edit the program to customize it.

    That all said, based on the fact the EVM was sampled two weeks ago it would not require any firmware change for functionality. Let me know if any questions.
