Do you have any collateral/support regarding the firmware implementation for current sensing with external shunt with DRV8462. I want to implement a closed loop control with FOC.
Below some details:
Is there an application note for implementing the firmware/software? There is a very well-constructed MSPM0Gxxx Sensorless FOC Users' Guide and corresponding software sample (mspm0_SDK_0_58_00_00_ENG\examples\nortos\LP_MSPM0G3507\motor_control_BLDC_sensorless_FOC) for BLDC motors 3 phase.
The stepper motor could also be operated by FOC. To do this, you would have to measure the currents as in the application letter and build a controller according to MSPM0Gxxx Sensorless FOC Users' Guide page 2. The difference would be the SVGEN MACRO and the Clarke Macro… Sensorless operation, i.e. the SMO Macro…
The datasheet of the DRV8462 7.3.11 suggests that I am not the first to want this and the hope that TI already has an AN or even an example here.
