HELLO ,
We are using DRV8323RS (SPI commanded by MCU) in 1xPWM mode with Hall Effect sensors and PWM signal for speed control.
We are wondering if it is possible to implement FOC (Field-Oriented Control) with this setup ?
Best regards.

Hello Moez,
Thank you for posting on E2E. While it is possible to run a sensored FOC algorithm with the DRV8323RS, 3x or 6x PWM mode needs to be used. Please see the following articles on how to implement the FOC algorithm.
Field Oriented Control Made Easy for Brushless DC Motors Using Smart Gate Drive (Rev. B) (ti.com) - Page 2 states that FOC can be used for 6x and 3x PWM modes while 1x can only be used for trapezoidal and not FOC
Brushless-DC Made Simple – Sensored Motor Control (Rev. B) (ti.com)
Sensored Field Oriented Control of 3-Phase Perm Magnet Sync Motors Using F2837x (Rev. A) (ti.com) - From C2000 team
Please let me know if this answers your question.
Best,
Eli
