DRV8873: DRV8873S: nFAULT pin left floating

Hello,

My customer wants to leave the nFAULT pin floating.

It's mentioned in the datasheet that this pin SHOULD be pulled high to an external DVDD. Is this just a recommendation or a requirement?

Hello Takuchi-san,

It is a requirement as the nFault pin is pulled low whenever there is any kind of fault. Is there a reason they want to keep it floating?

Hello Keerthi,

The reason was that the PCB was already designed and ordered and the pin is not being used.

If it's required to be pulled HIGH then the board requires a hotfix.
