DRV8701: Mosfet Compatibility

Hi,

We are using A&O mosfet AONS36306 with DRV8701 driver. We are facing issue with the same. The driver indicates a fault condition. Can you pls help us to check if the selected mosfet is compatible with the driver.

Hello Akash,

Can you tell me what VM you are using for the DV8701 (The FETs have a maximum drain to source voltage of 30 V). Here are the general things you have to consider:

The continuous drain current I_D(max) must be greater than maximum current in your application.

The IDrive setting should be low enough to give a rise/fall time of at least 100-200ns. Please refer to the formula below.

T_rise/fall = Qgd / I_sink/source

Hi Keerthivasan,

Vm is at 7.2V.

The Idrive settings are verified and look fine.

Still there is fault condition triggered. Can share you the circuit over private message.
