We are looking for an integrated automotive grade H-Bridge driver for a 24V automotive design. Below are the key requirements of the H-Bridge driver:
Normal working voltage: 32V+
Supply voltage rating: 40V+, ideally 60V+
Number of bridges: 1+
Max output current: 6.7A+ DC, 2.5A+ rms
Max PWM frequency: 40KHz+
Max junction temperature: 125C+
DRV8262 fully meet the above requirements, but is not automotive qualified. Other automotive H-Bridge driver like DRV8873SPWPRQ1 (4A current rating) and DRV8243SQRXYRQ1 (max 25KHz PWM) don't fully meet the requirements.
Does TI plan to have DRV8262 automotive qualified soon with some degradations? Or there are other integrated H-Bridge drivers in TI's automotive road map that will meet the above requirements?
Thanks,
Charley
Hello Charley,
As of right now, there are no devices that are automotive grade and can meet the following criteria:
40V+, ideally 60V+
Best regards,
Keerthi
Hey Charley,
See this page where I filtered down our Brushed DC motor drivers to only the ones that support your requirements. 40V, at least 6A peak output current (I know you said 6.7A, but wanted to highlight some more options), 1+ full H-bridge, and automotive grade:
Given these options, I'd recommend the DRV8243-Q1. It supports 12A peak current and 40V abs max.
Regards,
Jacob
Thank you Jacob for your help. DRV8873-Q1 in the list is a better option per our 40KHz PWM requirement.
