As I know that brake function is supported in sleep mode. I have some questions here:
1. Can brake mode be implemented in normal mode by software?
2. If yes, What is the difference between the chip's built-in braking mode and the braking implemented by software?

Thank you for your question.
1. Answer is No. DRV does not have POB function in operation mode. Only way is customer need to check PVDD voltage externally then make GL=L by MCU.
DRV8718 has PVDD Over voltage protection/detection function. This could be used for detecting PVDD over voltage.
