DRV8452: DVDD output

Hi team,

My customer is connecting DVDD to VCC, when he removed the caps for DVDD and VCC pins, he found the output of DVDD became 4.2V, but before that it was 5V.

Then he implemented the caps again and restarted the IC but the DVDD output remained 4.2V.

What could be the reason of this behavior?

Hello Zeming,

Is the customer using our EVM? If not, can they send a schematic and layout of their board.

what is the voltage on DVDD pin now, if they remove the VCC connection?

Hi Keerthi,

Yes, the test was done by EVM.

DVDD remains 4.2V even the caps are implemented, and VCC is connected to DVDD.

I will test as well but it will be very helpful if you can help.

Hello Zeming,

The decoupling capacitor on the DVDD is used to stabilize the feedback loop for the internal regulator. The device might have been damaged by your customer removing the decoupling capacitor. Let me know if you have further questions.
